Medicine dealers collaborate with Police Community Relations Committee on fight against fake drugs
The Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers(ASSOPPMED) has collaborated with Police Community Relation Committee(PCRC) in waging war against substandard and fake drugs, as well as injecting sanity to dispensation of drugs.
Penpushing reports that, President of the association, Olori Oluwatoyin Oyedele made this known at the 2022 annual celebration of the association, as well as inauguration of Police Community Relations Community (PCRC) unit held on Tuesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, with number of personalities and stakeholders in attendance.
The President explained that aims and objectives of the association include: promoting government regulations that concerns the operations of patient medicine dealers in the society, to discourage quackery in the business from time to time, regular orientation and training in the line of duty to safe lives of customers among others.
Penpushing further reports that, Oyedele explained that the association was formed with like minds three years ago and was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) and received the seal on 24th June, 2020, expressing joy that the association has become household name across the globe
“This feat is achieved because the members are law abiding by following the rules and regulations laid down by the appropriate agencies and not leaving the support of the Ministry of Health , Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, Nigeria Police and the media. The association is now household name”, she said
Penpushing also reports that, Oyedele affirmed that all members of the association are licenced, adding that the body will continued to promote oneness , unity, love, harmony among members for business progress of members
” It is my pleasure to also report here that, all our members are known to the licencing agencies, that is why we are paccetters. I am highly delighted to welcome you all to this important event which is now turned to be an annual event”, she added
Penpushing reports that reports that notable dignitaries in attendance include; Moradeke Martins representing Chairman, Odeda Local Government of Ogun State, Alhaji Semiu Lawal(former Chairman Odeda Local Government), Matthew Eije ,Deputy Commander National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA), Oba Abiodun Solaja(Olu Obada Oko), Omooba Makumba Oloyede and Musiliu Sanni
The other dignitaries who also delivered goodwill messages include; Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder Penpushing media), Abimbola Oyeyemi(Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command), Barrister Kayode Akinsola,DSP Olugbenga Sikeolu(Divisional Police Officer)
Penpushing further reports that that, part of the program include: decoration of new awardees, matrons, patrons and advisers as well as launch of the association calendar
