Man slaps French President at public function

The French President Emmanuel Macron was on Tuesday slapped on the face by a man while he stretched his hands to greet the  man in a  crowd of onlookers during a tour in southern France.

Penpushing reports that the man dressed in a green T-shirt, glasses and a face mask was seen in a circulating video held Macron’s outstretched hand before slapping the left side of the president’s face.

The man was seen in the footage shouting “A Bas La Macronie,” meaning “Down with Macronia” as well as ‘Montjoie Saint Denis”, the battle cry of the French army when the country was still a monarchy,

Penpushing further reports that, two of the President’s security details thereafter held the man to the ground as another ushered the president away, while it was learnt that Macron urged his orderly to leave the attacker
