Institute of Directors commences process of building N10billion corporate headquarters

The Institute of Directors (IOD), Nigeria on Monday commenced process for the construction of its N10billion corporate headquarters located on Temple road, Ikoyi Lagos with the ground breaking ceremony.

Penpushing reports that the President and Chairman of Governing Council of the Institute, Chief Chris Okunowo  led other executives and members for the groundbreaking, which was also streamlined for the benefits of other members who could not attend physically.

The Iyalode of Yorubaland Iyalode Alaba Lawson who is the Chairman of the Abeokuta Chapter of the Institute of Directors (IOD) led other members of the chapter to the epoch making event

Penpushing further reports that, the profile of the institute has it that is the apex professionally body with a mandate for and cater for and represent Directors in their individual capacities across the various sectors of the economy.

The institute has made significant and highly impressive strides, working closely with government, corporate organizations, bilateral chambers and diplomatic missions to raise the standard of corporate governance and leadership in the private and public sectors.

Penpushing also reports that, Chairman of the House and Infrastructure Committee for the project, Ernest Ebi in his speech disclosed that the building is a 15-storey edifice designed by Interstate architects ,adding that on completion it will serve as corporate headquarters of the institute

The Chairman explained that the corporate headquarters will also be residential, which will be of international standard, adding that on completion it would meet all sustainable and environmental certifications in its design strategies.

‘Seven out of the 15-floors of the edifice will offer 26 luxurious residential apartments of choice The building offers investors or buyers four bedroom apartments of minimum 280sqm,studio apartments of 72sqm each and two penthouses all designed to create an immeasurable luxurious and comfortable experience’, he stated

‘The edifice, which has green credentials also boasts of ample car parking(164 spaces) integrated into the building, a recreational floor on the 4th floor comprising amenities like meeting rooms, swimming pool ,gymnasium, sauna, library, business centres and seminar rooms. It will also have a spacious ground floor, which will have a restaurant and banqueting area’,

Penpushing reports that President and Chairman of Governing Council of the Institute, Chief Chris Okunowo in his remarks disclosed that cost estimate for the gigantic project in N10billion, expressing optimism on its success.

The President said the project is expected to be completed within 36 months, and also used the occasion in appealing and encouraging members for important need in supporting the project financially, just as he appreciated those already supporting the project.

The membership also include; Lady Maiden Ibru, Funlola Fowowe-Jeje, Seni Adetu,Abdulmalik Egbunike,Oluwole Oshin, Adeoye Fadeyibi,Oyindamola Adeyemi,Emeka Okwuosa, Dele Alimi and Kene Nwanegbo
