HIJAB CRISIS: UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MAY RE-OPEN ON MONDAY

It is recalled the Members of the Muslim Parents Forum had earlier written a letter to the School Management and the Governing Board, stating that their female pupils should be permitted to put on Hijab on their school uniforms.

Penpushing also recalled that in view of, this some parents embarked on a protest, forcing the institution’s management to shut down the school last week Monday. However, thereafter, sources informed that the President of the University of Ibadan Muslim community and the Chief Imam called the aggrieved members of the forum to meeting after the Friday Juma’at prayers held at the university central mosque to find peaceful resolution to the crisis.

The source, who preferred anonymity, however, confided in Penpushing assuring that with the level of the meeting as at the time of filing this report, peaceful resolutions was in the offing, and academic activities may return to the school on Monday, November 26.
