Gunmen kill Kogi state commissioner, local government chairman kidnapped

Gunmen have killed the Kogi State Commissioner of Pension Board, Adebayo Solomon on Saturday at  Eruku village, a few kilometres to Egbe while  travelling alongside four others  from Ilorin, Kwara State Capital.

Penpushing reports that, Kogi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Williams Aya, who confirmed the sad news said, the gunmen operating on the boundary between the two states also kidnapped the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, Pius Kolawole.

The police spokesman said as at the time of filing this report, the corpse of the commissioner had since been deposited at ECWA Hospital, Egbe, while the whereabouts of local government boss remained unknown.

Penpushing further reports that, the Commissioner of Police in Kogi state, Ayuba Ede, while reacting, disclosed that an intensive investigation has commenced to nab the perpetrators.
