Governor Dapo Abiodun, a systematic ‘driver’ of good governance; Episode 1
By Morenikeji Sobaloju
A system-driven approach where all players are involved as encapsulated in the “Building our future together” agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration perfectly exemplified good governance
As a citizen of Ogun State, I can categorically say the forty-four year old Gateway State is undoubtably blessed with human and material resources Seidu Ayodele Balogun, the first Military Administrator experiments his leadership style in a State that was just created, and in all honesty he made marks
The present Ibara Housing Estate berths during his administration and I stand to be corrected among other laudable achievements too numerous to mention, no housing project has ever beaten the existence of this low-housing scheme which has continued to serve its purpose since the creation of my dear State
This is not to say that subsequent administrations both military and civilian didn’t leave their “footprints” in fact no one can erase the fact that most military administrators like Sam Ewang, Kayode Olofinmoyin, Oladehinde Joseph and others laid the foundation of developmental progression we’re experiencing now in Gateway State.
Without stating the records of achievements of these military rulers one after the other vis-a-vis the efforts of the civilian Governors to reposition Ogun State, anyone whose age is over four-decades can at least play back and ruminate over how development has continued to evolve in Ogun State
Eight years definitely not far from now, the realness and deceitful approach to governance will still remain fresh in our memories, let me avoid stone throwing, that’s not the essence of this write up
To drive home my points however, without bias or propaganda, it’s crystal clear that good governance is measured when the welfare of the entire citizenry is prioritized and any leader who’s not placing premium on the betterment of the people needs a clearer understanding of what the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended says
Judging from my opinion and several feedback mechanisms, social well-being of the people is paramount to Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration as against what some mischief are spreading.
As a matter of fact, the damage caused by recent heavy downpours is immense, no doubt such situation requires timely response from any responsible and responsive government to prevent future occurrences and the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun in line with his vision to ensure Social Welfare and Well-being of the people in all manners of ways took a bold step to provide a lasting solution
Away from deceitful political gimmicks we’re used to in the last eight years, measures that can stand the test of time was initiated by Governor Dapo Abiodun, this action alone, again left the entire citizenry with trust of good governance where even distribution of dividends of democracy is assured
Will you rather support an administration that’s is poised to provide quality representation and let’s play our part. #supportDA#encourageDA
