Governor Abiodun to facilitate establishment of airforce base, training school in Ogun state

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has disclosed plans by his administration to facilitate the establishment of the Nigeria Air force base and a training school in the State, to complement its first Agro-Cargo Airport project.

Penpushing reports that,  Abiodun  made the disclosure when he received the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa during a courtesy call to his office in Abeokuta.

The Governor noted that his administration would continue to support all security agencies in the State, with assurance that he would look into the issue of infrastructure in the proposed school.

“We want to have the Nigeria Air force base here because we are building an Agro-Cargo Airport, and we will like to have a training school here as well. We will continue to do the needful in terms of providing the needed support for all the security agencies that are present in Ogun State”, he said.

Penpushing further reports that, the Governor noted that his administration is working to build a port in its riverine area to attract more investment, seeking the cooperation of the Command to put a stop to attacks emanating from those areas.

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, earlier in his remarks, said the state would benefit more from its taskforce with the deployment of more naval officers, to curb criminal activities in the area, adding that the Command is currently working towards scaling up its presence at the Tongeji oil rich area.
