The popular Sabo Market in Sagamu town of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State was on Tuesday gutted by fire with goods and properties estimated to run into millions of Naira consumed by the inferno.
Penpushing reports that, as at the time of the incident, the cause was yet to be known while, traders who were victims of the incident continued to count their loses and also passionately appealed to the state government to come to their aid.
The State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has visited the scene for an on the spot assessment, and equally put a call across to Fire Service authority to quickly respond to the fire, before it get out of hand, and also commiserated with victims.
Penpushing further reports that, Abiodun promised the victims speedy intervention from his administration, adding that he would be liaising with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and market leaders on providing some relief that would cushion their losses.
The Governor expressed appreciation to the Paramount Ruler of Remoland,Oba Babatunde Ajayi, for his quick intervention and visit to the scene and also thanked fire fighters for the speedy response to quell the fire.
