FIRE CONSUMES MILLION NAIRA WORTH PROPERTIES IN IBADAN
The survivor explained that, the power restoration caused the spark which led to the fire incident, stating that, “I was called from where I took my son to the lesson this morning that our house has caught fire, the fire was caused as a result of an electric cooker that was ON when the PHCN brought light.”
He added, “No casualty was recorded but properties worth millions of naira were lost ranging from electrical equipment, furniture’s, house utensils, and cloths, among others.
Penpushing further reports that, a resident of the area also a victim of the outbreak, identified as Blessing while speaking to journalists lamented that all her properties were engulfed by fire, adding that the only thing left for her was the cloth she was putting on as at the time of filing this report.
Her words, “I wasn’t at home when the fire started, my children were at home, it took the intervention of some boys in our area to break my door before my children could be rescue from the inferno, lamenting that all her valuable properties worth several amount of money were lost in the fire.
The woman said there is nothing left for her and her children to live on, but however, pleaded with the Oyo State Government to quickly come into their aids so that some of their properties that were lost into the inferno can be retrieved.
