Family celebrates Mama Anastacia Oyibo at 80

The family of Madam Anastacia Kadukoma Oyibo on Sunday rolled out drums to celebrate her in grandstyle as she clocked 80 years, a ceremony attended by guests within and outside Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

Penpushing reports that the birthday ceremony kickstarted with a church service and palm frond procession held at St Anne Catholic Church, located in Ibara area of the ancient town, with thousands of congregants in attendance to be part of the epoch events.

The celebrator an ardent member of the catholic church could not hide her joy, seen dressed gorgeously and beaming with smiles throughout the two hours service, accompanied by her children, grandchildren and other family members.

Penpushing further reports that, interestingly Mama Oyibo birthday celebration took place on Palm Sunday, which made the day unique for her and the family to appreciate God for sparing her life to the ripe age inspite of all challenges she overcame.

The church was full to the brim, and the celebrator, after the sermon joined by guests, family, friends and other well-wishers who came from far and near, for a thanksgiving to further expressed appreciation to God, her maker.

Penpushing also reports that thereafter, the train of the ceremony moved to the Sacred Heart Catholic College Hall, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta for the reception, where guests converged to wine and dine with the celebrator.

The reception hall which was well arranged with colourful decoration conveniently accommodated the hundreds of guests, while number of personalities which include Ogun State Government representatives, corporate organisations, journalists as well as other professional bodies and catholic family among others were in attendance.

Penpushing reports that number of goodwill messages were presented at the ceremony which eulogized the celebrator, affirming her peace life style, God fearing and a responsible mother not only to her children, but also to all those who have contact with her.

The daughter of the celebrator, Stella Sawyer who gave vote of thanks, could not hold back emotion as she burst into tears, recalling how their mother almost lost her life in the course of saving her grandchild, but however, thanked God for sparing the lives of the duo, in an incident which could have turned a sour story.

Penpushing further reports that, the ceremony was ignited with music which was rendered by a saxophonist, popularly called LayKay Sax, as celebrator, her children, family members and number of guests trooped to the dancing floor to rejoice together.
