Ex news agency of nigeria editor-in-chief dies at 74
A former Editor-In-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Shehu Abui, has been reported dead at 74, and this was confirmed by his son, Ibrahim, who said the late journalist gave up the ghost while on admission in hospital.
Penpushing reports that, Abui, who served as Editor-in-chief between1998 and 2006, was until his death the Dan Masani Manchok, (Leader of the learned) under the Moro’a Chiefdom in Southern Kaduna.
The bereaved son said his father died at a hospital in Jos in the early hours of Wednesday after a brief illness, adding, “my father was admitted in Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, on Monday and I travelled to Jos from Abuja yesterday to donate blood.But unfortunately, he gave up the ghost at about 1.25 a.m. on Wednesday,” .
Meanwhile the late for Editor-in Chief of News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) is a native of Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, also served as Acting Chairman, Govering Council,Nigerian Institute of Journalism(NIJ) between 1999-2001,and he is survived by his wife and three children.
