DRUGS SHORTAGE HITS FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE ABEOKUTA

However, as at the time of this report on Sunday, investigation revealed that, the drugs shortage problem is giving the management of the hospital a sleepless night, hence, the urgent move by the authority to address the embarrassing situation.

Penpushing, however, learnt that, how soon the problem of the drugs shortage would be addressed has become another challenge for the management of the hospital, as a result bureaucracy, just as number of patients continued to express disappointment

One of the patients who spoke with Penpushing narrated his experience after he was diagnosed of malaria and high blood pressure, adding that the Doctor prescribed drugs which include, include, P-Alaxin tablet, Enaretic tablet and Paracetamol tablet, but only to get there and was told that the two major drugs were not available, and that only Paracetamol was dispensed for him.

Similarly, some other patients were not left out the same plight, which forced them to purchase drugs outside the hospital; a federal institution they believe should have the required and abundant drugs for its patients.
