Driver kills two siblings in Ijebu-Ode

Two siblings were on Monday killed in auto crash which occurred at Irewon junction along Imowo–Ibadan garage axis Ijebu Ode, Ijebu Ode local government area of Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Road Traffic Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi who confirmed this in a statement said the accident involved Honda Accord Car with registration number KJA 394 EE,adding that the cause of the crash was overspeed on part of the driver.

The statement explained that eyewitness account said the Honda car driver oversped and could not control the vehicle while approaching the bend on the axis, thereby rammed into the two pedestrians from behind, a male and female siblings killing them on the spot

Penpushing further reports that Akinbiyi said as at the time of filing this report corpses had being deposited at morgue of State Hospital Ijebu-Ode, as well as the accidented car towed to Police Station Obalende, Ijebu-Ode for further investigation.

The agency spokesman disclosed that driver  of the accidented Honda car had been  arrested by Police from Obalende Division, Ijebu Ode,adding that angry youths who hitherto blocked the entire Imowo–Ibadan garage road, were chased away from the road by Police and Nigerian Army, explaining that normalcy had returned for human and vehicular movement
