Court remands skit maker ‘Trinity Guy,’ victim’s parents

A notorious skit maker Maruf Abdullahi, popularly called ”Trinity”, has been ordered by the Family Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital  to be remanded in correctional centre in the ancient town for allegedly sexually exploiting a 10-year-old girl.

Penpushing reports that the Magistrate, P. O. Adetuyibi in similar vein ordered the parents of the child, Isiaka Ahmed, (40) and his wife Rofiat Ahmed (29) to be remanded alongside the 31-year old skit maker at the Agodi correctional centre.

The police it is recalled that  charged  Abdullahi alongside the parents of the victim with conspiracy and sexual abuse/exploitation, while earlier the prosecution counsel, Oluwakemi Arowosaye, told the court that the accused persons allegedly conspired together to wit sexual abuse.

Penpushing further reports that Arowosaye said the skit maker on 17 December 2022, was alleged to have sexually abused and exploited the 10-year- old girl at Kuola area, Ibadan, stressing that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 35 (1) and punishable under Section 35 (2) of the Oyo State Child Rights Law 2006.

The prosecutor emphasized that the offence also contravenes the provisions of section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000, and the magistrate having ordered remand of the accussed persons adjourned the matter until 31 August, 2023 for mention
