Ogun state government braces up for African Junior Athletics Championship

The Ogun State Government has brace itself to welcome the3rd African U18 and U20 Athletics Championships, to unveil continent’s future stars in the African Junior Athletics Championship now just 30 days away.

Penpushing reports that the championship to host over 50 countries, with national contingents expected to start arriving July 12, 2025 and promises to be a spectacle of speed, strength, and emerging talent.

The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has given full endorsement to the facilities, certifying Abeokuta as ready and capable of hosting the continent’s best young athletes to hold between 16-20 July, 2025

Penpushing further reports that as a build up to this Ogun State is equally setting the groundwork to host the upcoming WAFU B U-17 football championship, which will be cementing the state’s growing status as a hub for elite sporting events in Africa.
