Businessman allegedly kills partner to avoid repayment of loan

A business man, Yunus Isa, has been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command over the alleged murder of his business partner, Lawan Adamu to avoid paying a loan, a crime committed on September 15, 2024.

Penpushing reports that the Police Command Public Relations Office Dungus Abdulkarim who confirmed the development in a statement in Damaturu said the body of the victim was found with a deep throat cut and stab wounds in the Nayinawa area of Damaturu.

The police spokesperson explained that credible intelligence led to the arrest of the suspect at Shago Tara near Nayinawa, adding that investigation revealed that Adamu was his employer and business partner in the engine oil trade.

“Investigation revealed that Lawan Adamu was his employer and business partner in the engine oil trade. He (the suspect) borrowed N500,000 from Adamu last year with a profit-sharing agreement’, he wrote.

“However, when he failed to meet the agreement terms, the deceased demanded repayment. Isa callously murdered Adamu to avoid repaying the debt, killing him in cold blood’, the statement emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that the police spokesperson in the statement added that the swift resolution of the case demonstrated the police’s commitment to ensuring justice and public safety.
