Boko Haram attacks Yobe town

The Boko Haram on Sunday evening engaged Nigerian security forces in heavy exchange of gunfire, when they (terrorists) launched attack in Babangida, the headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government council of Yobe State.

Penpushing reports that, a resident of the community, Adamu Gidado, who escaped from the town to Damaturu following commencement of the exchange of fire, explained  that many residents had also run into the bush to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

The resident  added that he saw heavy military reinforcement heading towards Tarmuwa as he was heading to Damaturu, stating that people in the community which is about 50km north-east of Damaturu, the state capital have ran into the bush

Penpushing further reports that, security source also confirmed the attack, adding that as at the time of filing this reports the insurgents were  engaging in fire with the troops,stressing that military has mobilised heavy reinforcement to the town.
