Biodun Lasile set to unveil Noveau reading culture magazine
The Sixthsense Initiative, a renowned publishing company is set to unveil its Noveau Reading Culture Magazine aimed to further help to propagate the act of reading and to continuously groom children to see reading as an important culture to imbibe.
Penpushing reports that, the Creator/Coordinator, Biodun Lasile made this known, adding that the public presentation will hold on Wednesday 19th May, 2021 at Iwe Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
The coordinator in a press statement disclosed that the event will be chaired by Justice Dehinde Shoremi, while the wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun is the Special Guest of Honour
Penpushing further reports that, Lasile explained that Sixth Sense Series Publications is the promoter of Children Reading Competition Programme, Summer Children Reading Camp, Community Mobile Library Services, MultiLevel children reading culture chain and establishing reading clubs in schools.
‘We are the publishers of school children books; Banana Peels, Sammy the Barber, Sarat De Rat, Animals and Birds in English and The Sisters is set to officially Launch its noveau SixthSense Reading Culture Magazine, an event scheduled to hold on Wednesday 19th May, 2021 beginning from 10am at Iwe Iroyin House, Oke – Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State’, he said.
Penpushing also reports that, Lasile, explained that the Sixthsense Initiative is poised to make history using Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre as venue, in view of the fact journalism practice started in Abeokuta
‘We are poised to make history again. Once upon a time was Iwe Iroyin! It was established in 1859 under the administration of Henry Townsend (1815-1866). The newspaper was for the Egba people and Yorubaland by its name “Iwe Irohin fun awon ara Egba ati Yoruba” which served about eight years as veritable medium which birthed many newspapers’.
‘We are going to be at Iwe Iroyin, the Press Centre of Ogun State Nigeria Union of Journalists to unveil our nouveau, none of its kind and foremost in publishing industry. We want to groom tomorrow’s leaders today and make our children read again’,the author emphasised.
The founder of the initiative pointed out that,there are many Publications but none is dedicated to this subject matter of prominence to education, personal development and human resources,adding that the initiative is geared towards promoting reading in children to increase child’s capacity development in accordance and to support SDG Goal No. 4.
Penpushing reports that, he disclosed the royal father of the day is Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and the reviewer is Dr Reuben Abati,to be joined via Zoom by Dr Wale Okediran Secretary General, Pan African Writers’ Association (PAWA) while Oloye Lekan Alabi is the Guest Speaker
