Apostle Achudume appeals to Nigerians in diaspora to focus on investment in Nigeria

The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume has appealed to Nigerians in Diaspora to focus more on investment in their country rather than getting addicted to social activities.

Penpushing reports that Achudume made the appeal while speaking at a breakfast meeting with Nigerians resident in the country which was organized by Pomegranate Nigeria Limited ) held at Intercontinental Hotel, 02, London.

The known frankly speaking cleric who facilitated the meeting which had in attendance the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, told the meeting that nobody can build the country for them without them exhibiting patriotism.

Penpushing further reports that Achudume drew attention of the diasporans to the fact that while many of them have imbibed the ‘Japa’ syndrome, number of foreigners are coming to invest in their country, hence, reason for them to have a second thought on the syndrome

‘Nobody can build the country except Nigerians.  Don’t think of western nations in the development of Africa.  The western media will not advertise the country, all they will do is bad publicity to make you hate your country’, Achudume cautioned.

“While Nigerians are moving out in the spirit of Japa syndrome, many foreigners are coming to invest in the country.  Nigerians in diaspora should focus on investment instead of social activities like weddings, burials, birthdays. This is time to re -channel resources to profitable ventures’, he emphasised.

‘Stop thinking of what is going wrong in the Nation and start thinking about what is good for the various sectors of the economy.  It is time to put ideas together and contribute to Nation building, there are many opportunities waiting to build a virile Nation’, the cleric added.

‘Let us stop speaking ills of the nation, every country has wrong people, Nigerians are not the worst in the world.  If there is any where to invest, come back home. It is not wrong to live overseas but there is racism everywhere in the western world, a time is coming when the children of Africans in diaspora will want to return to their countries, you must close the gap and take responsibility for the future generations’, Achudme stressed

Penpushing further reports that in their own separate remarks as guests’ speakers Wole Elusakin, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Pomegranate Nigeria Limited and Ahmed Lawal, Managing Director Wealthbridge posited that entrepreneurs rule the world.

The duo noted that Nigerians abroad should surround themselves with quality people and professionals who will expose them to opportunities that can bring favourable returns from investment, stressing that there are many opportunities to be explored in real estate, hospitality sector, education, transportation among others

Penpushing also reports that the guest speakers emphasized and opined that the current administration is opened to partnerships with the business community, adding that the opportunity should be maximally utilised.
