Alleged trans-border drug dealer pastor arrested
A Pastor Aniette Effiong alleged to be a trans-border drug dealer, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with three drums of crystal methamphetamine, locally called Mkpuru Mmiri.
Penpushing reports that, the Public Relations Manager of the agency Femi Babafemi who disclosed this in a statement said the the consignment was believed to have been imported from India, adding that it weighed 90 kilogrammes, loaded into a commercial bus with registration number RSH 691XC at Ojuelegba in Lagos.
Penpushing further reports that, Babafemi, explained that the consignment was intercepted during a stop-and-search operation along Umuahia – Ikot Ekpene Highway on Saturday 6 August, adding that the dangerous drug, packed 30kg in each drum, was meant for the cleric who was arrested in a follow-up operation at Oron beach in Oron, Akwa Ibom State.
The spokesman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) also added that the recovered meth drums were meant for onward delivery to the Republic of Cameroon, stressing that the ugly development comes on the heels of four seizures of the same illicit substance weighing 4.074kg going to Australia, Indonesia and Philippines. .

Penpushing reports that, Babafemi in the statement quoted the Chairman, of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Buba Marwa, as commending the officers and men of the command in Akwa Ibom for their recent feats.
