Alaafin’s death: Business activities paralyzed in Oyo town

Business activities on Saturday were paralyzed in Oyo town as residents of the ancient town mourned the demise of the late foremost Yoruba monarch, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III.
Penpushing reports that it is recalled that Adeyemi joined his ancestors in the late hours of Friday at Afe Babalola Teaching Hospital after a brief illness,while as at the time of this report shops and businesses around Alaafin’s palace were shut down, while people gathered in their hundreds to mourn.
The noticeable areas where number of shops were closed include Aremo, Ile Asumo, Atigisi, Asipa, Obalolu, and Lagondoko among others, just as palace source disclosed that the remains of the royal father will be committed to mother earth by 4pm.
Penpushing also reports that as at the time of filing this report,the Chief Imam of Oyo town, Imam Mosud Ajokidero and his team embarked in a meeting with the Oyo Mesi over burial plan for the late monarch.
