Akinale Community celebrates “Gbagede Oba” to mark Ileya Festival

The Akinale Community Development Association (CDA) has joined the world to celebrate the Sallah which took place at the palace of the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Olufemi Ogunleyel, where large number of muslim faithful were in attendance

Penpushing reports that, the ceremony tagged, “Gbagede Oba”, the social interaction which is all inclusive has drawn sons and daughters of the town from home and in diaspora to come home to evaluate necessary needed development programme in the town.

The royal father addressing hundreds of the celebrators commended the Community Development Association (CDA) leaders for their creativity and initiative to organise the event which has become a template for social development of Akinale community.

Penpushing further reports that, Towulade of Akinale of Owu kingdom of Egbaland regretted that the current freeze in the economy of Nigeria has smeared the rural populace with poverty, calling for self-driven survival strategies.

The journalist turned monarch therefore admonished all sons and daughters of Akinale community to tighten their belts and evolve positive ideas that will utilise their natural resources for economic gains.

Penpushing also reports that, earlier, the Chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA)  Alhaji Dada Ogunniyi  said the “Gbagede Oba” was conceived as a wake-up call to all Akinale indigenes home and abroad to felicitate with each other, using Ileya as a platform, where they can evaluate the state of their home and plan for sustainable development.
