UGWUANYI RE-ELECTS ENUGU GOVERNOR
The Returning Officer, who is the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, added that Ugwuanyi won in all the 17 local Government areas to beat other contestants, in the poll described peaceful.
Penpushing further reports that, Ugwuanyi , who is the sitting Governor won the election with 95.54 per cent of valid votes cast, while the All Progressives Congress(APC) candidate polled 2.21 per cent.
The Returning officer also stated that reports from the local government collation officers in the 17 council areas showed that the exercise was peaceful, free, fair and devoid of violence, stressing that it was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Electoral Act and INEC rules and regulations.
Penpushing recalled that, the Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier made a pronouncement to boycott of the election after requesting a postponement that the electoral commission rejected.
