Two minors allegedly set school on fire in ogun state

Two minors have set their school on fire in Isheri-Olofin area of Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, after gaining access to one of the unlocked classrooms at Community Primary School in the town on Sunday.

Penpushing reports that the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola, who made this known in a statement on Monday said the alleged pupils age ranged between six and nine years.

The police spokesperson who said the suspects have been arrested said they allegedly set fire to books left behind by teachers and pupils, adding that the incident was reported to the police by a chief in the community.

Penpushing further reports that Odutola in the statement explained that upon receiving the report, the Anti-Crime and Detectives Unit of the police visited the scene and brought the alleged children to the police station for interrogation.

The police image maker added that the police would contact their parents, as she regards the incident as a very serious crime for the children to get themselves involved in, assuring that the authorities would unravel and update members of the public in due course if other persons might have instigated the children.
