TWO KILLED AS BUS PLUNGS INTO RIVER ALONG IJEBU-ODE-BENIN EXPRESSWAY

He said the injured victims were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) Sagamu- while the dead were deposited at FOS Ipara mortuary, adding also that, the third crash occurred on Ibadan – Lagos expressway by Car park C turning   involving three vehicles with registration number MUS488BC Mitsubishi (space bus) blue colour, Toyota Hilux Blue Colour with registration number AD1657RS and Honda Accord gold colour with registration number APP75CZ.

The Sector Commander said, ten persons were involved (4 male adult, 1 female adult 5 children), with five of them sustaining injuries (4 male adult and 1 female adult), but nobody died in the crash, adding that the commission’s rescue team had removed the obstruction and restored free flow of traffic            

 He reiterates to motorists that the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway and Abeokuta Itori – Sango Ota – Lagos roads are currently undergoing rehabilitation and are prone to high presence of construction vehicles, which requires caution and strict adherence to construction zone speed limit.

‘Those traveling along the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway within the 5 km stretch of road where traffic is diverted by RCC, the construction company working around Sancrete and Fidiwo, close to Four Square Church at Ajebo/Alapako/Ogunmakin are to obey the maximum speed limit stipulated on road signs along the corridor and avoid overtaking, to prevent possible collision with vehicles travelling in opposite direction.They are to also obey traffic regulations and follow instructions from FRSC patrol teams and other traffic agencies’, he said.
