Tinubu has done well for youths to deserve support for second term, says Dayo Israel
The National Youth Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Dayo Israel has declared that President Bola Tinubu has done more for Nigerian youths, hence, need to support his (Tinubu) second term ambition ahead of 2027 poll.
Penpushing reports that Israel stated this during a visit to ward 4, Keesi in Abeokuta South local government area of Ogun State, which was part of efforts to boost the party’s ongoing nationwide electronic membership registration exercise.
The party leader described the administration of Tinubu as change maker, pointing out that he should be re-elected, citing his administration’s commitment to youth inclusion, economic reforms and policies that are beginning to stabilise the nation’s economy.
Penpushing further reports that he emphasized that Tinubu has done more for Nigerian youths than any other candidate on the political landscape, stressing that the government has continually providing young people a sense of belonging and a seat at the table of governance.
“There is nobody else on the ballot who has done as much for the youths as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Young people today are not just spectators. We have ministers, managing directors of agencies and parastatals who are youths. I am a product of that inclusion, having been supported to emerge as the National Youth Leader of the ruling party’, Israel said
Penpushing also reports that he equally explained that the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) e-registration exercise has already recorded over seven million new members across the country.
The party youth leader added that the data-driven process has helped the party understand its growing youth base and identify areas that need more engagement, however, admitted there are still lot to be done.
“We know there is still a lot to do, especially in mobilising more young people. That is why we are going around to sensitise them on the importance of being part of the political process. It is not enough to complain from the sidelines; you must be at the table where decisions are made,” he added.
Penpushing reports that he stressed that the visit was part of a broader mobilisation tour across Ogun State, following similar engagements in Ogun West and ahead of planned visits to Sagamu and other parts of Ogun East.
The party chieftain acknowledged that some of Tinubu’s reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidy and deregulation of the foreign exchange and petroleum sectors, were initially painful but necessary.
“The removal of fuel subsidy was a tough start, but it is beginning to balance out. We are seeing more stability now, with prices becoming less volatile and competition emerging among players, including local refiners and importers,” he said.
Penpushing further reports that Israel compared the reforms to the early days of the telecommunications revolution in Nigeria, when SIM cards were expensive before competition eventually made them affordable.
The politician explained that that is how reforms work, with early tough situation adding that at end of the day and with time it stabilises and benefits the people, expressing confidence that with a second term, Tinubu would consolidate on existing policies
Penpushing also reports that Israel expressed optimism that Tinubu will even do more for young Nigerians, urging youths to support the ruling party and actively participate in the ongoing registration exercise.
