Governor Makinde blasts own party, says Peoples Democratic Party cannot restructure Nigeria as promised

The Oyo State Governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic (PDP), Engr Seyi Makinde has expressed doubt if the party he used its platform to become Governor can restructure Nigeria, as promised by the party.

Penpushing reports Makinde made this observation while reacting to media report on internet that, he has been appointed as the Chairman Governors Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ,declaring that the story was untrue, and  was not ready to take the position.

The Governor said, he was shocked to have read the report on social media, describing it as a lie from pit of hell, adding that, even if he was given the offer, would not take, because his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has failed to follow due process

‘If PDP has promised to restructure Nigeria, and we cannot restructure PDP, we are not ready to restructure Nigeria. , that is the fact. I saw it on internet that Seyi Makinde has been appointed as Chairman PDP  Governors forum, it is a lie from pit of hell’, he said.

‘Even if they give it to me I will not accept, because there is order. If the chairman resigns the deputy chairman would take the position that is how you have order in process. And that is not by fighting, and that is not what we are fighting for’,Makinde added

‘We are not fighting for the southern part of this country to have chairmanship of PDP forum. We are saying that, there has been issues that are foundational, if you go and read the proceedings of the constitutional conference that, dealt with Nigeria independence ,you will know that, there were issues then’, he stated.

Penpushing further reports that, Makinde pointed out and lamented that if since 1960 of independence, the country was yet to get it right, and leadership cannot be able to take a path that can lead to sustainable development, after uninterrupted 23 years of democracy practice, then the country should try something else

‘And if since 1960 we’ve not been able to get things right ,yes of course they may say that, the military interregnum, because of their  military command structure  affected us , but we’ve been practicing democracy since 1999, this is 23 years  and we are not able to take a path that can lead to sustainable development, we should , we try something else’, he emphasized
