SUN Newspapers Photo Journalist, Olugbodi becomes Sport Writers Association Vice Chairman in Oyo State

A photo journalist with SUN newspaper in Ibadan, Gbenga Olugbodi has been unanimously elected as the Vice chairman of Sport Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN), Oyo State chapter.
Penpushing reports that Olugbodi was elected unopposed on Thursday during Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) congress held at the secretariat of the Nigerian Union Of Journalists (NUJ), Iyaganku, Ibadan.
The Sports Writers Chairman in the State, Comrade Niyi Alebiosu while speaking shortly after the swearing in of the newly elected vice chairman together with other executive elected noted that the election took place to fill the vacant positions, so as to move the association forward.
Penpushing further reports that, Alebiosu however lamented low turnout of members during the congress, calling on them to unite and come together to fight for the same course and restored back the glory of the association.
“Oyo SWAN used to be at the forefront of sports in Nigeria before, we need to come together and reclaimed our glory, let’s all hands be on deck so that we can achieved our aims and objectives’.
Penpushing also reports that the newly elected vice chairman in his speech thanked the association and its umbrella body, Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) for giving him opportunity to serve, pledging his commitment towards moving the association forward.
Meanwhile, other executive members elected at the peaceful congress include: Olawale Hamsat (Financial Secretary) and Blessing Fowowe(Assistant Financial Secretary)
