Show compassion for patients, Chief Medical Director tells workers

The management of the University of Osun Teaching Hospital (UNISON), Osogbo has tasked its workers to be friendly with patients and their relatives at all time, and embrace attitudinal change in the discharge of their duties and in their encounter with people.

Penpushing reports that, the Chief Medical Director of the institution, Professor Peter Olaitan gave the charge during an  inter-religious prayer session to start the New Year, stressing on need for all categories of staff to be professional.

The Chief Medical Director pointed out that staffers should do all that are necessary to ensure that patients are promptly and respectfully attended to bearing in mind that  anybody can take ill as  no human being, of any status, is above sickness.

Penpushing further reports that, Olaitan said to ensure total quality service is delivered the management has instituted a Service Delivery Monitoring Committee, assuring that commendations and sanctions will be appropriately applied as may be necessary from time to time.

The leadership of the institution enjoined workers to appreciate the State Governor for giving attention to requests from the management of the hospital, as well as the recent development which brought about the change in the name of the hospital to University of Osun Teaching Hospital and see it as a good omen.

Penpushing also reports, that the Public Relations Officer of the health facility, Ayodele Adeyemo in a statement added that the management hoped for more assistance from Government and Private sector for the hospital’s transformation.

The Chief Medical Director sought the cooperation of all members in the New Year adding that his vision for the hospital can only be achieved when there is robust financing from different sources as well as judicious use of resources by the hospital.
