Shooting at Ibadan as Police, Okada riders clash

The police and commercial motorcyclists popularly called, ’Okada rider” on Thursday engaged themselves in a gun duel at Iwo road area of Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital

Penpushing reports  that the shooting which begins in the early hours  when a policeman (name withheld) hit a bike man and seized his bike, resulting in protest by other Okada riders and some youths in the area.

This followed a commotion in the vicinity as the protesters mounted blockage on some major roads within the area, while police were alleged shooting sporadically and teargassed to disperse the protesters

Penpushing further reports that the Oyo State government  immediately deployed Operation Burst which consist of security operatives to  calm down the tension and ensure security of lives and property
