Sanwo-Olu re-elected Lagos state governor

The Governor of Lagos State Babajide  Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  has won the governorship election paving way for him for second term in office, having polled 762,134 votes to win the race.

Penpushing reports that the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Adenike Oladiji, in the announcement said the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran recorded 62,449 and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) scored 312,329 votes.

The Monday announcement by the electoral umpire said Sanwo-Olu scored 25 percent of the total number of votes and also the highest number of votes in the race, adding that he cleared 19 out of the 20 local government areas of the state.

Penpushing further reports that the returning officer said  Sanwo-Olu, polled the highest number of votes in Ikeja, Apapa, Badagry, Lagos Island, Epe, Agege, Ibeju-lekki, Kosofe, Surulere, Somolu, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos Mainland, Alimosho, Ojo, Ikorodu, Mushin and Oshodi-Isolo and Eti-Osa.
