ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED WHILE FIGHTING OVER ROBBERY PROCEEDS

The police spokesman said, the suspects residents of Sanga area and Molipa Estate Ijebu-Ode, respectively thereafter buried the victim sold the snatched motorcycle at the rate of  N120,000, and later dug a shallow grave in uncompleted building where they buried the victim.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi said, luck however ran against the suspects when they were about to share the money from the sale of the motorcycle, a development which degenerated to argument and altercation between them.

The police image maker said, the altercation aroused the suspicious of people around and they informed the Police, upon which the Divisional Police Officer of Obalende Division Sunday Omonijo swiftly dispatched his detectives to effect the arrest of the two suspects.

‘On interrogation, they confessed luring an Okada man to an isolated area where they killed him and took possession of the motorcycle which they sold, and the sharing formula of the proceed caused disagreement between them’.

Penpushing also reports that, he said, the suspects have taken police to the uncompleted building where the victim was buried, and the corpse has been recovered and taken to mortuary for post mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
