Server glitch obstructs visa processing in German embassy in Lagos
Applicants for visa at Germany embassy on Monday returned home disappointed following network server problems encountered by authorities, an ugly development that could not be solved in attending to the applicants.
Penpushing reports that the applicants who arrived the embassy located at Walter Carrington Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos as early as possible for the 7.30am interview appointment, ended up becoming victims of failure network
The applicants had earlier been screened and cleared for the interview session and were seated in hall for next expected steps of calling them on individual basis for the interview when the development suddenly cchanged contrary to expectations of number of applicants in attendance which include a group of a body.
Penpushing further reports that to the amazement of the applicants who had been waiting anxiously for over three hours for the visa interview received shock of their lives when announcement came that appointed day has to be rescheduled
The announcement made by a female official of the embassy attributed the sudden shift of appointment day to server network challenges emanating from headquarters in Germany and expressed regret over the development, as she announced new dates as either May 7, 8 or 10, 2024
Penpushing also reports that the authorities equally pasted notification of cancellation of the Monday appointment and the proposed new dates for the applicants to choose any of the dates deem as convenient for them as individual or group for the visa interview
“Every applicant with visa appointment on 06 May 2024 can come back for his or her appointment on the following other days of the week: 07, 08 or 10 of May 2024. Please bring your appointment confirmation for 06 May 2024 and your passport for access. Please note that the visa section is closed on 09 May 2024. Please don’t come on that day”, the notification letter said
