Resign within next 6 days, Buhari orders ministers seeking elective positions

The Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday ordered all Ministers serving under his administration, and interested to participate in elective political position in forthcoming election to  resign within the next six day.

Penpushing reports that, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed made the President order known at the end of the Federal Executive Council(FEC) presided over by Buhari at the Presidential villa in Abuja

The President directive was said to be coming on the day the Court of Appeal conditionally validated a section of the electoral law that mandates political office holders like ministers to resign before they can contest for elections or vote in party primaries.

Penpushing further reports that, affected in the order include: Rotimi Amaechi(Minister for Transportation), Chris Ngige(Minister of Labour and Emeka Nwajiuba(Minister of State for Health) all seeking for position of the President, as well as Abubaka Malami(Attorney-General) seeking to be Governor of Kebbi State.
