PROSCRIPTION OF OYO ROAD TRANSPORT WORKERS UNION WILL SOON BE LIFTED, SAYS NATIONAL PRESIDENT

The union boss added that the Governor has assured him that the ban will be lifted as soon as he talk to his members not to cause any violence in the State, stating,’ I have  met the Governor and we have agreed on a point’

‘He said I should go and meet with our union members in the State, and they should assured the government that they will embraced peace and they will not cause anything that will hindered the peace of Oyo State’.

“The Governor said he proscribed the union so that peace can reign in the State because there was threat to security of the State, so by the time we resolve the issue within ourselves, he will lift the ban”, he explained

Penpushing further reports that, Yasin reiterated that the union shall comply with the directive of the Governor by meeting with the members of the union in the State to ensure peace, noting that nobody is above the law, and no person can hold the entire state into ransom.

The leadership, however, said that the union election across all the 36 States remain sacrosanct, adding that all States shall conduct elections by September to bring in new officers of the union in their respective States.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Oyo State Governnor,   Taiwo Adisa while speaking noted that the Governor is very passionate about sustenance of peace and security among citizens and residents of the State, adding that the Governor was not oppose to the operations of trade union in the State, but frowned at the threat to security in the State.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has told the NURTW National President to go and meet with members of his union in the State, and talk to them with assurance that the union will not threat the peace of Oyo State in any form, and crisis within the union will be resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, then the proscription of the union will be lifted”, he stated

Penpushing reports that, dignitaries at the meeting include; Governor Seyi Makinde,  his Deputy , Engr. Rauf Olaniyan,  National Officials of the road union, Security Chiefs in Oyo State, factional leaders of the union, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, (a.k.a Auxilliary) and the Chairman of the union in the  State, Alhaji Abideen Olajide, popularly known as Ejiogbe.
