Professional programmes should be regulated by professional bodies -Waheed Kadiri

The former National President, Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON),Alhaji Waheed Kadiri has emphasised need for professionals to be responsible for regulation of various professional bodies.
Penpushing reports that, Kadiri gave the charge during interactive session with journalists as part of activities to mark his 70th birthday anniversary adding that professional bodies are relevant in all fields and understand the situation around of any institution than any other.
The Town Planning expert also faulted the policy makers in the educational sector which he noted is being politicized and bringing unpleasant development and had crippled the educational system.
Penpushing further reports that, Kadiri, who was also a former Rector of Moshood Abiols Polytechnic, faulted the government for what he called over regulating the educational sector, stressing that if care is not taken it would further decay the system.
The town planner decried ‘rampaging’ flow of entrepreneurship in academics parlance, pointing out that entrepreneurship was not about vocational training, but to impact the needful knowledge on students to have the ability in establishing business and move on with it.
Penpushing also reports that, Kadiri pointed out need to revive and overhaul the educational policy, noting that, lack of professionalism by the lecturers equally contribute to dwindling development
