POSTPONED ELECTIONS: ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS DEMANDS A RESHUFFLE OF ELECTORAL TEAM

The National Chairman of the ruling party, at the meeting accused some  State Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of working with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Penpushing further reports that, Oshiomhole specifically mentioned the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Akwa Ibom, Mike Igini, just as he also accused the electoral body of leaking its plan to postpone last Saturday’s Presidential elections to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The worried National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) likened his request that the commission should be reshuffled to a team in a football match complaining about the bias of a potential referee, arguing that match officials have a responsibility to change such referee.

Penpushing also reports that, in similar vein, President Buhari said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must act responsibly, stressing further,“the constitution and the laws protected INEC, but they must not take us for granted,” the president said.

It is recalled that, the alleged Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mike Igini, a revered activist had earlier  raised alarm that thugs of a political party burnt the commission’s vehicles in the State, but did not mention the party involved.

“Some of our vehicles that were distributing materials were burnt yesterday and who are those instigating this? Politicians. This is rather unfortunate. Politicians who are the greatest beneficiaries of this democracy have become the greatest threats’; he was quoted to have said on Saturday.
