Portable arraigned on 9- count charge, denied bail

The controversial lewd musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable was on Monday arraigned before Magistrate Court 1, Ota, Ogun State on nine count charges.

Penpushing reports that it would be recalled that following his earlier arrest he was thrown into detention facility under the Ogun State Police Command, where he was seen shedding crocodile tears.

The charges included assault, occassional harm, stealing, resisting arrest and serious assault on police officer among others

The notorious musician who had been in conflict with police on number of offences, was however, denied bail when arraigned before the court, and subsequently ordered to be remanded at correctional centre, Ibara, Abeokuta.

Penpushing further reports that the court, however, adjourned the case to January 19, 2026, while it would be recalled that he had in recent time engaged in violent scuffle with one of his wives, as well as family members.

The musician in similar vein, last week took to the social media to lambast his biological father who he described as scammer, who is only interested in his wealth, while it is equally recalled that he had sometime ago on social media after been declared wanted by the police, said he is a mad person with patient card at Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, which he said can be verify from the authorities

“I fear government. I am a federal government liability. Then I’m a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital. I have a card that certifies me as one of their patients. I am from Abeokuta and they are taking care of me there. I am not a thief, I help people around me without even looking at their background’, he was quoted saying

Penpushing also reports that the Ogun State Police Command, Seyi Babaseyi who earlier confirmed his arrest, however, frowned at circulated video of his detention where he was allegedly assaulted.

The police spokesperson emphasized that the alleged assault captured in the video is unacceptable and not in line with police standards, explaining that police authorities doesn’t condone videoing suspects.

‘He was arrested and he is with us, but that is a different issue. What is important is the assault that was happening at the station. We don’t condone it. We don’t condone videoing suspects. We don’t even put suspects’ faces out. No matter who the suspect is, nobody should be treated in such a manner’, he emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that he added that the police do not permit the filming or public display of suspects, stressing that such actions endanger both the safety of suspects and the integrity of investigations.

The Command imagemaker disclosed that the command has already commenced an internal investigation into the incident, with assurance that any personnel found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

“The investigation is ongoing, and the officers involved, if found culpable, will be sent to the appropriate authorities. That process has already started,” the police spokesperson said.
