20-year-old boy allegedly kills biological father for ritual

A twenty-year old boy has allegedly tied his biological father with a rope on the neck and subsequently killed him with knife in Oshoku Village in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State for ritual purposes.

Penpushing reports the suspect identified as Ridwan committed the crime on August 31,2023 inside a building, and was subsequently arrested by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps.

The statement issued by the corps Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf said following a strange noise heard by the officers of the agency on routine patrol, stormed the building to discovered lifeless body of the victim in pool of blood.

Penpushing further reports that Yusuf added that following the shocking discovery Commander of the Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo directed his men to intensify efforts to get to the root of the incident and unveil the alleged killer.

The statement said after intensive investigation led by the Zonal Commander, Ijebu Zonal Command of the Corps, Marcus Ayankoya apprehended the runaway suspect where he was hiding in a bush, adding he later made confessional statement.

Penpushing also reports that Yusuf stated that he confessed killing his father, Ishau with a rope tied to his neck and a knife used to remove the needed parts of his body for ritual purpose, which include four of the teeth of the victim.

The  statement added that the suspect confirmed  that he removed his killed father body parts on request of a ritualist he identified as Baba Kekere, who he was yet to reveal his contact and identity as at the time of filing this report

Penpushing reports that statement, however, said the corps commander has ordered that the alleged killer be transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Ogbere Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
