Police Community Relations Committee organizes retreat to strengthen relationship with police in combating crimes

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State Command has organized a 2-day retreat for its members across the state to further strengthened relationship with the police in combating crimes.

Penpushing reports that the retreat designed for Wednesday and Thursday was held in Ilaro, headquarters of Yewa zone of the state, and also had in attendance representatives of the Ogun State Police Command and other stakeholders

There were separate lectures titled: ‘Information and Intelligence Gathering’, and Transmission and Using Sports to Curb Growing Crime Rates among Nigerian youths’, which was handled by Chief Superintendent of Police Odidi and Veteran Sports Tutor and Analyst, Dan Osakwe respectively.

Penpushing further reports that National Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Ibrahim Olaniyan who declared open the workshop tagged, ‘Leadership Retreat’ promised to do a lot more, to encourage other State commands to take a cue from Ogun State.

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) boss, lauded the brilliant initiatives of the Ogun State Command led by Samson Popoola which include effective partnerships with other stakeholders in the fight against criminals and crimes, as well as updating knowledge of the members.

Penpushing also reports that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police represented by the Assistant Commissioner in charge of Operations, Titus Ayodeji in his remarks at the training thanked  the committee for an unparalleled support it has been rendering to the police, and equally  called for more demanding partnerships between the two organisations.

The Ogun State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ven. (Dr) Samson Popoola in his speech assured members that all necessary equipment aimed at eradicating crime and criminalities in the society will soon be provided.

Penpushing reports that some notable personalities present at the retreat include Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewalab, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle who was represented by Olu of  Imasayi, Oba Lukman  Kuoye  and  Oloja of  Ojaodan, Oba  (Engr) Olatunji Olowobese.

The others are Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Dr Mikhail Akinde represented by the Director of Students Affairs, Mr  J. Omowunmi, as well as officials of the National  Drug  Law  Enforcement  Agency (NDLEA) among others
