Police brutality protest: Stop killing Nigerian youths, Clinton cautions Buhari

Former American Secretary of States, Hilary Clinton, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army to stop killing of the protesters against police brutality in the country

Penpushing reports that Clinton made the call while reacting to the security forces sporadic shooting and killing of number of unarmed protesters in Lekki area of Lagos State on Tuesday night, few hours after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu imposed curfew in the state.

The peaceful protesters were said to be rendering the Nigeria national anthem when the military swooped on them, having earlier switched off the toll gate lights and rained bullets on them, claiming lives of some of them.

Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of filing this reports some victims who sustained injuries were receiving treatment at different hospital in the town, and earlier the emergency personnels and ambulances were initially denied access by Nigerian Army at the Lekki toll plaza Lagos

The multiple videos captured by citizens show the moment soldiers opened fire on the protesters, and the clips show terrified citizens crouching and screaming as gunshots rented the air.
