Child Network Protection inaugurates 5-man committee to conduct election for new executive in Ogun state

The Child Protection Network (CPN), umbrella body of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), responsible for the care and welfare of children in Ogun State has set up a committee to organize fresh election to usher in new executive for the body.

Penpushing reports that, the 5-man electoral committee was inaugurated on Friday, after a meeting held at the conference room of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The members include: Mrs Nike Ajala(Director of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development), who is to serve as chairperson, while other members include: Mr Sina Adefolahan, Mrs Bolatito Ade-Onojobi, as well as representative from Ministry of Education and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence(NSDC) respectively.

Penpushing further reports that, the meeting charged the committee to organize a transparent election, which is expected to take place within one month of the inauguration, adding that the elected new officers are to run affairs of the network for three years

The chairperson of the 5-man committee in response expressed appreciation for considering the team for the task, with assurance that the committee will work in line with term of reference and ensured conducting credible poll

Penpushing also reports that, Ajala called for cooperation and support of members of the network, to make the work of the committee pleasant and turned to reality, stressing that, the committee will not disappoint the network on the task ahead

The valedictory meeting earlier chaired by the out-going Chairman Alfred Soleye accompanied by other executive members had addressed various issues, which include performances of the out-going leadership, reports from national body of the network, proposed new election and future of the body among others
