Former President Goodluck Jonathan has joined the list of beneficiaries of President aspirants being bought forms of nomination and expression of interest for, by group(s) under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) ahead of its primaries.

Penpushing reports that, Jonathan who led the country under the banner of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was reported to have overnight joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) to run the presidential race.

The former President received the gestures when a coalition of Northern groups bought forms for him to contest the party primaries in securing ticket as flagbearer of the party ahead of the 2023 election.

Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of filing this report, it was not clear if the former president who ruled between 2010 and 2015under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) will accept the forms.

The former President who lost to the incumbent,  President Muhammadu Buhari, who ran on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress(APC), had in April told a group of supporters who visited him at his Abuja office that he had not decided whether to join the presidential race or not.

“Yes, you are calling me to come and declare for the 2023 presidency, yes I can’t tell you am declaring, the political process is ongoing, just watch out. But the key role you must play is to pray that Nigeria gets a president that will carry the young people along and work very hard to see that some of the country’s problems raised are dealt with. I believe that collectively, we can work together,’’ he had said.

Penpushing also reports that, following this development, there had been different views whether Jonathan is eligible to run for president again having taken the oath of office twice as President of the most black populous country.
