A member of Penpushing platform Dr Kayode Akinsola has emerged as the 2nd Vice President of the Lisabi Grammar School Old Students’ Association (LIGSOSA) and was sworn-in alongside other global executives.
Penpushing reports that the ceremony held on Saturday at the CBN hall within the school premises in Abeokuta, Ogun State, also produced Engr. Kayode Adeniji, as Global President of the association who will serve for a two-year tenure alongside other elected officials.
The new officials took oath of allegiance, pledging to uphold the association’s constitution, serve with integrity, and promote the values of unity, loyalty, and accountability in office, while the event marked a significant moment in the association’s history with a renewed commitment to unity, service, and development.
Penpushing further reports that the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Elijah Ola Adediwura in his speech charged the new executives to embrace accountability and integrity in their leadership.
The Board chairman emphasized that the new administration must set a standard of excellence, stressing that transparency, and service should remain the guiding principles for them to move the school forward.
Penpushing also reports that the new Global President in his inaugural speech, expressed deep gratitude to members for the trust placed in him and outlined a clear vision for his tenure, and pledged to lead an administration driven by teamwork, transparency, and purposeful leadership.
“I am humbled by this call to serve. As an alumnus and as Dean of Law at Chrisland University, I see this as another opportunity to contribute to human capital development, not only for Lisabi Grammar School but for our society at large,” he said.
“We are poised to lift this association to greater heights. We will work smart, balance efficiency with effectiveness, and focus on doing the right things and doing them right’, Adeniji emphasized
Penpushing reports that he called on old students not to make habit of not settling for the average, rather, they should always bring out their best and reminded members of their collective responsibility to make association stronger and more impactful organization.
The Global President emphasized that the future of the association lies in collaboration, echoing the proverb that says that if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
Penpushing further reports that he disclosed that the association will soon launch a new website before the end of the month, aimed at improving communication, increasing membership engagement, and offering a digital home for all members worldwide.
The President promised to focus on alumni networking and mentorship for current students, explaining that whether they are professional, entrepreneur, or student, the goal is to create platforms where they can all support one another and lift each other.
Penpushing also reports that the 2nd Vice President who is Dean of the College of Law, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, in his own remarks expressed gratitude to the association for the honour of entrusting him with the role.
The Nigerian lawyer and academic, reaffirmed his commitment to teamwork, inclusivity, and mentorship, stressing that alumni associations play a vital role in shaping the future of students.
“We must work hand in hand to ensure that current students are supported with mentorship, guidance, and resources. They are the torchbearers of tomorrow, and we owe them a solid foundation,” he added.
Penpushing reports that the outgoing Global President, Alhaji Taofik Ogunremi Lawal highlighted his achievements during his four-year tenure, including the completion of the Chief Bode Akindele Hostels for Boys and Girls.
The immediate past President equally added establishment of a functional association office, and the re-establishment of a school clinic, as parts of establishment recorded during his tenure, and urged the new executives to build on these foundations.
“Our administration kept its promises, from mobilizing over forty Sets into the Association to delivering key infrastructure projects. I urge the new leaders to sustain the momentum and raise the bar of excellence,” Lawal said.
Penpushing further reports that the Secondary School Administrator Mrs. Titilope Odutayo, outlined critical development needs within the school, and announced plans to construct a new hostel that would accommodate 200 students per room, with a proposed fee of ₦140,000 per term.
The administrator equally emphasized the urgent need for an E-library and the renovation of several old buildings, appealing to Lisabi Grammar School Old Students’ Association (LIGSOSA) members for financial and moral support.
Penpushing also reports that the inauguration served as a rallying point for alumni to reconnect and reflect on the legacy of Lisabi Grammar School, whose motto “Labor et Patientia” continues to inspire.
Meanwhile, record has it that Lisabi Grammar School which has produced generations of accomplished individuals, remains a symbol of resilience and excellence in Ogun State and beyond.
