Penpushing Founder is a goal getter in journalism, says Osoba
A journalism icon and former Governor of Ogun State Chief Olusegun Osoba has described the founder of Penpushing Media Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji as a goal getter and known to exhibit passion and commitment towards journalism practice which has also brought him into relevance in the media world.
Penpushing reports that Osoba made this known in his speech as chairman at the occasion of 5th anniversary lecture of Penpushing Media held on July 25, 2023 at Marquee Events Centre Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, pointing out that he(Dimeji) always go head long to make things happen in a positive way.
The veteran journalist commended the zeal of the reporter and his disciplinary measures in nursing Penpushing Media to relevance in the media industry, recalling that when he started Penpushing platform in 2017, which later transformed into newspapers online publications and online television, he exhibited strict discipline which eventually became a success story, emphasizing that he’s happy to be associated with him as a thoroughbred professional
“I am here under the pressure of Dimeji. Dimeji is a pressure cooker, you must be so strong to be able to withstand his pressure on all fronts When he started the Penpushing 2017, Ijesa don’t tolerate any nonsense, you see I am trying to say Osomaloo, and when Osomaloo want their money, they will stay with you all day until you pay them the debt, that DNA is in Dimeji” Osoba told the gathering.
“This morning I was having problem with my plumbing I was trying to sort it out, Dimeji called me 10 times I have it on my phone, I keep looking at it and not picking it until when I found that it was going to the 10th times I have to pick it, He said Oga we are waiting for you, so that is Dimeji . So God will bless you for being professional, you started very well, you will reach a higher height in Jesus name”, Osoba said.
Penpushing further reports that the former Governor admitted that he had to succumb to Dimeji’s pressure in attending the anniversary lecture of Penpushing Media and to serve as the chairman of the occasion, adding that he(Dimeji) is a fit and competent member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors(NGE) in view of his notable performance and professionalism in the media industry
‘When Penpushing started, I can report to my President (Nigerian Guild of Editors) He(Dimeji) was the stricted journalist I have seen. At a point I have to caution him, any infraction a yellow, any other infraction a red card. I said the rate at which you are raising yellow and red card, there will be no people on the platform. Why, because he was strict on professionalism. That is one thing you can say about him. Very, very strict. And I was discussing with the President (NGE), I said those online editors you are bringing into the Guild, we must make sure that they are true practitioners, vast and experienced in the profession. Dimeji is one’, Osoba emphasised .
‘I want to congratulate him. Being succumbing to Dimeji’s pressure and appearing here today, I can sleep better I won’t have to be having telephone calls, upon telephone calls. I thank you. God bless all of you”, Osoba stated
Penpushing also reports that earlier in his speech tagged, ‘So far So Good”, the founder expressed appreciation to Osoba who he said cancelled his flight to London to attend the anniversary lecture in honour of the organisation and prayed that God will in same vein continue to honour the former Governor and father of journalism
The founder of the globally read and watched online newspapers and television explained that the media outlet was robustly nurtured through journalistic ideology of the need for credible sources of news globally and aimed to fight fakes news across the world
