FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC DONATES MATERIALS TO PRISONS

The statement issued by Sola Abiala, Deputy Registrar/Public Relations stated that, the Deputy Rector while speaking pointed out that, prisons are supposed to be reformative in nature and that inmates should be reformed so as to be useful to themselves and the society in their post-prison lives.

Penpushing further reports that, the Officer in Charge of the Prisons,  Oshin Bamidele while responding expressed appreciation to the Polytechnic management for its kind gestures, adding  that efforts are continuously being made to ensure that inmates do not go back to the crimes that brought them to the prisons once they regained their freedom.

The prisons boss informed that about 18 inmates which are already qualified( SSCE wise) are currently being prepared for admissions into the Nigeria Open University (NOUN) where, provisions are already available for brilliant inmates to be sponsored up to the PhD level.

Penpushing also reports that, the Deputy Rector was accompanied on the courtesy visit to the Prisons by the Registrar, Mrs. A. F. Osore; the Polytechnic Librarian, Mr O. L. Adebisi and the Deputy Registrar (Public Relations) Mr O. A. Abiala.
