Penpushing editorial board approves introduction of credible awards to its annual lecture

The Editorial Board of Penpushing media has agreed that its annual lecture should be expanded with introduction of awards to credible individuals and corporate organizations identified to have contributed meaningfully for positive growth across the globe.

Penpushing reports that, this is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the board’s virtual meeting, noting that so far the establishment had done well in sustenance of  the relevance and appropriateness  of its annual lectures.

The resolutions also have it that, it is high time Penpushing started enjoying corporate organizations sponsorship of events, and should identify such organizations to have synergy with them.

‘The board agreed  to sustain the annual lecture, noting that so far the management, members and board had done well on the annual lecture. The meeting said it was high time Penpushing started enjoying corporate organizations sponsorship of events, and needs to identify such organizations to have synergy with them’, the communiqué said.

‘The board noted that the annual lecture should be expanded to introduce awards for credible individuals and corporate bodies. The meeting also agreed that the standing committee for the planning of the  4th annual lecture which could not hold last year due to coronavirus pandemic/lockdown should be  resuscitated to commence work towards the next edition tentatively slated to hold  in July’, the communiqué added.

Penpushing further reports that, the board resolved to be holding quarterly meeting , with proviso   for urgent meeting when the need arises, and also encouraged membership across the globe to place advertisements with the organization, saying that advertisement remains tonic of survival for media industry.

The meeting commended Penpushing Media partnership with United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Nigeria Press Council (NPC) and International Press Council (IPC) among others towards achieving its  goals to turn around journalism for better, and resolved on need to sustain the synergy.

‘The meeting supported birthday celebrations of all stakeholders/ membership as a way to appreciate every member across the globe, but  however, pointed out that additional greetings by members for  celebrants must end by 12am(Nigeria time) and other continent  on the day  of the celebration’

Penpushing also reports that, the board noted the need to encourage members contributions to issues on the platform to avoid dormancy on the platform, with approval for the  acceptance of interns from department of mass communication/journalism schools to be admitted for their practical exposure  with Penpushing media for purpose of mentoring the young Journalists.

Meanwhile, the board in the communiqué ratified the location of the headquarters office of Penpushing media within the premises of Press Centre, Iwe-Iroyin, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, as well as its office in Canada, North America .
