I rejoice with you that we have already had one on ground, and we will have another two by the end of this year, i promised to do more because kidney is vital to human existence looking at the challenges people living with kidney problems are facing’.

Penpushing further reports that, Adeboye pointed to a woman in the Bible that has blood issue problem, saying that anybody that has any problem should come to Jesus ‘because he is the last solution, for Jesus don’t refer a case to another person. If human being couldn’t help us, then we can go to the all sufficient God and we keep crying to him.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Abiodun Otegbayo while addressing journalists at the conference hall of the hospital during a press briefing to mark the 62nd Founders Day of the hospital, noted that it is not possible for government to provide all the needed funds and infrastructure to adequately addressed the needs of the hospital because the resources at the disposal of the government is very minimal.

Penpushing also reports that,  Otegbayo maintained that fund is a major challenge in all government establishments, adding that it has been intriguing how the management get money to run the hospital, calling on wealthy Nigerians, Corporate Organizations and nongovernmental organizations to consider the University College Hospital(UCH) as a point where their generosity can be extended to

The Medical Director highlighted some of the challenges facing the hospital which include: payment of huge sum of money for the supply of electricity, buying diesel for generators, lack of adequate equipments, problem of water supply, power supply, training of staffs, and absence of good infrastructure among others.

“UCH is overwhelmed and over stretched; secondary healthcare which is the duty of the state governments should be develop in order to remove the burden of the tertiary hospitals because the influx of the primary and secondary healthcare challenges of the people have been derailing UCH from its original focus which is tertiary healthcare’, he said.

“I came in as the 8th Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital, Ibadan with the mantra of shared vision for excellence to the administration of our great hospital, the hospital have superintended over the training of about 65% of the medical personnel in Nigeria, while we have worked towards strengthening the tripartite function on which the hospital stands which are training, research and service.”

“We have channeled our energy toward getting those who would help get resources for the upliftment and upgrading our service and facilities, services are greatly improving in the hospital, while efforts at making our patients relation comfortable are obvious.”

“In the areas of training, we have sponsored several professionals to their annual conference, workshops and seminars because I believe so much in manpower development and I am unleashing my zeal to make it a reality in the hospital.”

“We have been able to raise a team of influential Nigerians to be on Board of Trustee that will help improve services and facilities in the hospital, and yet we must meet the yearnings of our teeming patients.”

Penpushing also reports that,he however said that the hospital will be giving awards to some individuals and corporate organization in recognition of the contribution they have made so far and some of the awardee include: Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Otunba Subomi Balogun, The Etsu of Nupe, Engr. Ifeolu Oyedele, Sen. Hosea Agboola, Otunba Bamidele Dada, Fidelity Bank, Access Bank, NNPC, and IBEDC.
