Oyo state journalists condole with government, alaafin over Commissioner’s death

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council  on Thursday condoled with Governor Seyi Makinde; Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; family, friends and political associates of the late Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola.

Penpushing reports that the union in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Ademola Babalola and Sola Oladapo respectively, urged the Governor to take heart and be consoled that the late politician who was one time Speaker of the State Assembly, lived a life worthy of emulation.

“Ayoola was a vibrant,  enigmatic, resourceful, diligent and cerebral politician whose demise was on death too many for the Pacesetters State. He will be sorely missed as a member of Governor Makinde’s think thank team. He was a fine gentleman and encyclopedia of Oyo politics since the reign of late former Governor Bola Ige.

“Our condolence also goes to the Alaafin, the people of Oyo town especially Oyo Federal constituency. We pray God grant the wife, children, family and friends left by the late colourful politician the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss,” the statement added.

Penpushing further  reports that in the same vein, the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC)  noted that  the news of the demise of  Ayoola came like a thunderbolt to all Oyo State residents.

The opposition party APC in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, AbdulAzeez Olatunde said that the death of the erstwhile commissioner for Environment was a shock,adding,”We are indeed shocked because this is yet another colossal loss to the Government and people of Oyo State and especially to Oyo town.”

“We condole with the Government of Oyo State under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Ayoola’s family and Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the shocking demise of this Political Trojan.

Penpushing recalled that, Ayoola, who was former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly under the administration of Lam Adesina  died on Thursday morning after a brief illness.
