The Oyo State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday traded words over 2023 general election, threatening each other to be in control of the state affairs in the next political dispensation
Penpushing reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) vowed that it would ensured that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) is divided into two to paved way for its victory and come back to power in 2023
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in reaction described the threat of the opposition All Progressives Congress(APC) as mere joke, describing All Progressives Congress(APC) a leopard that will never change its skin
Penpushing further reports that, the newly inaugurated All Progressives Congress(APC) Chairman in the state, Hon Isaac Omodewu while inaugurating the state executives and local government chairmen of the party urged members of the party to unite and mobilised for the forthcoming election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) leader declared that the journey to take back the state from Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has started, stressing that his main task was to unite and lead the party to victory.
Penpushing also reports that in reaction,Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in a statement by Publicity Secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji said the party is taking note of events in All Progressives Congress(APC), recalling what it described as draconian days of the immediate past administration.
“Even though we acknowledge that no matter how they try to package themselves as repentant political militia once in government, we must say unequivocally that as the ruling party with absolute commitment to the security of lives and properties as well as welfare of all residents within the state.”
“We therefore, want to put the Nigeria police on red alert by calling on other security agencies in the state to as part of proactive measures put close monitoring measures in place in order to forestall any form of unpleasant end from the raging whirlwind within the Oyo state APC’
